Who We Are
Meet the founder... Voula
Hi, my name is Voula! I am a fully dedicated homeschooling mother of a 10 and 5 years old. Our family is a cultural mix of Greek and Italian. I graduated from Pennsylvania State University with a bachelor's degree in Business Management and Marketing. I have taught on multiple platforms including previous homeschooling programs and a preschool program at the Greek-American academy in both Media and Upper Darby. I am Usui Reiki Ryoho certified, Level II (Okuden), working to obtain my masters. I have a love for all things nature, holistic, self-healing, and overall simple and meaningful living. I believe we are all life learners and enjoy highlighting learning opportunities with my children in almost everything we do! I look forward to taking this journey with you!
Meet our teachers...
My name is Annmarie Cantrell and I am so excited to be one of the facilitators in this enrichment program. I was raised in a home where food was always front and center. My mother had an incredible gift of nurturing her family and friends through nourishment and she created a culture in which the kitchen was the heart and soul of the household. As I grew up, I valued good food but became disconnected from it. In my 20s when I was working as a child development specialist for young children with special needs, I had a health crisis which conventional medicine really couldn’t touch. I had to go back to the very basics- food. I learned that many things that I thought were “healthy” were actually exacerbating my symptoms. It was a journey which got me back into the kitchen. I attended a culinary nutrition school and began teaching others how to use food to heal. I am especially passionate about the health of children in this country and teaching children and their parents about food. We see many childhood illnesses rising, but I firmly believe that we do not need to accept that childhood disease is an inevitable consequence of growing up in today’s toxic society. We have the power to change the trajectory of children’s health in this country and see our younger generations thriving again. We do this by getting children connected to food and connected to their bodies!! These classes will aim to do just that in a fun, exploratory way! My philosophy around food is pretty simple, but it tends to go against the “ governmental nutritional standards”.

Growing up in Pennsylvania, Shane was busy playing sports and believing he was a ninja,
imitating martial artists and break-dancing in the living room. Sure, he broke a few things, but
in the end his parents knew to encourage the activities he loved most!
Playing baseball in college, Shane developed a passion for health and fitness. Taking care of his
body and mind was important for performance, so he not only exercised but took time to
meditate and relax. After college, Shane practiced meditation, dance, and martial arts while
helping people as a personal trainer. His teachers Ted Costa, Tom Weksler, and Ido Portal
turned his attention to presence, improvisation and playfulness while learning new things.
Dance, qigong, and meditation became the curriculum for joy and self-understanding.
Shane has also been an event coordinator and MC/DJ since the age of 16. With experience in
music production, mixing, and DJ’ing, Shane is eager to share his enthusiasm for music with
children. Music can be a great launch pad for self-discovery, harmonizing with others, and
enjoyment.
